Debsunder Dutta is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He received a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, India, a Master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and a Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign all in Civil Engineering. Post Ph.D. he was a postdoctoral fellow with the Carbon Cycle and Ecosystems Group at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at California Institute of Technology. His broad research interests lie in understanding the composition, structure and functioning of terrestrial ecosystems using high-resolution remote sensing using data-driven and process based approaches. He is particularly interesting in utilizing high resolution remote sensing observations for modeling the interactions between coupled water and carbon cycle using physical and ecological principles.
