Research Interests

Rainfall induced landslides constitute one of the biggest hazards in India. Currently  work is being done in developing warning systems considering rainfall thresholds  for landslides , based on reliability based back analysis of some of the slide areas in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Arunachal Pradesh.

Studies are also being conducted to understand the multi hazard scenarios.  Reliability based design procedures slope stability improvement using mitigation measures such as drainage techniques, use of geosynthetics are being developed.

Reliability based design of pavements considering strength and drainage, reliability based design procedures for robust design of rock slopes, supporting systems, reliability based design of nuclear waste facilities, landfill containment and bioreactor systems are other areas that are being studied.
