Research Interests

Prof. Ananth Ramaswamy’s research interests are in the broad areas of material characterization, condition assessment and health monitoring of structural elements (concrete, steel and composites) under monotonic and cyclic loads (Thermo-mechanical) and structural protection methods using FRP and cementitious composites and the use of structural control, composites and smart materials technology.

The present work is on Hygro thermos chemo mechanical modelling of concrete to predict creep and shrinkage in hydrating concrete and thermal damage to concrete exposed to high temperature.

Short term experiments are used to validate the model and long term predictions have been attempted accounting for uncertainty in the parameters of the model.
