Raja’s current research focuses on estimating evapotranspiration using surface energy balance models, with the aim of using these estimates to quantify daily irrigation. He is evaluating the performance of the model across different biomes and landscape conditions, and exploring the use of thermal remote sensing and hyperspectral vegetation data for estimating evapotranspiration over larger areas. His master’s thesis focused on post-landslide suspended sediment dynamics in the Alaknanda River using field observations, IoT-based monitoring, CCTV-PIV, and satellite remote sensing.
