About The Course

The present workshop/short term course comprises of lectures as well as hands-on training spread over two weeks. This is divided into two main courses. Each course is subdivided into different modules which will be covered in a week. The morning sessions consists of lectures and discussions and the afternoon sessions comprise of hands-on training.

About the Speaker

Marco Bittelli received his degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Bologna, Italy, as well as a M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Soil Physics from Washington State University, USA. He spent a year as a postdoctoral scientist in the Physics Department at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He now teaches courses in soil physics, hydrological modelling, philosophy of science and scientific methods, at the undergraduate and graduate level, at the University of Bologna. He is a referee for the National Science Foundation, USA, and he also serves as a reviewer for international journals. He is the author of two book, the coauthor of six book chapters, over forty journal papers and over seventy papers in conference proceedings. He is also a jazz guitarist, who has been publishing two CD's of his own original music.
